Jordan & Ryan | Wide Open Weddings | Austin Wedding Photographer and Videographer

This one was too fun.

Jordan and Ryan had a really great group of friends and family that were NOT shy. The day started up with Jordan's bridesmaids dancing and singing while she got ready and ended with everyone trying to continue the reception and celebration!

This was a christian ceremony with much mention of service to God. The two keep their religion very close.

I love when couples get their dogs involved in the wedding. The dog was the ring bearer, and wore a sign saying "I loved her first!".

All the best to Jordan + Ryan for having us, and great work to all the vendors involved who put on a great event!

Jamie & Travis | #jettchristsuperstar | Wide Open Weddings | Austin Wedding Photographer

Jamie & Travis were the best. This was one of the most relaxed, and great time weddings we've ever captured.  We photographed the event outside of Austin at The Inn at Wild Rose Hall.  It was a perfect venue for a bit of shade during a hot Texas wedding.

Jamie is the boss at Do512 Family and we're stoked to photograph the celebration of her family!

Rachel & Vib were a lot of fun.  Rachel literally didn't stop smiling the entire day! The whole family danced from the second they got out of their cars to the close of the venue.

Here are a few top select shots from this beautiful indian wedding!

Thank you to our wedding vendors who made it all happen:

5 Things Every Wedding Videographer Crew Should Do

Wide Open Weddings | Photography from Austin Texas

Wide Open Weddings | Photography from Austin Texas

I have been shooting receptions, ceremonies, first looks, first kisses and everything in between for years now.  I have shot for several wedding companies before starting my own and was lucky enough to learn from some of the best.  There are a lot of variables in every couple’s special day, so preparation and pre-production is key.

  • Show up at least 30 minutes early to the venue. – No matter how many times you’ve been to the venue, you should show up early to walk the grounds.  This is your home for the next 8 to 12 hours.  Those extra 30 minutes will help you find a place to stage (stash) your camera equipment for those hours, get a feel for the grounds and prep your crew for any last minute run through before game time.
  • First introduction may be your only introduction – We are not photographers. Photographers will interact with everyone at all times for the entire day.  A videographer’s job is miles different.  We meet our bride or groom alongside their bridesmaids and groomsmen immediately upon arrival and in the most intimate setting – when they’re getting changed.  Make sure you make yourself known, and let everyone know that they should tell you whenever they’d like you to step out.  Preparing how much time you’ll have and need here will let you get out to shoot other wide setup shots of the venue.

  • Talk to each other – Timing, preparation and communication are the most important thing in every wedding day.  Making sure your other shooters know where you are and where they should prepare to be will make your editing easier and your film look that much more beautiful.
  • Talk to Planners, Vendors, & most importantly Photographers – Planners will get you changes in schedule and help you look out for extra little details.  They are stressed out but if you can get them on your team, they are a gold mine of a partner.  Remember all those flashes in your video footage?  If you’re friendly and communicate well with the photographers, you can occasionally setup 15 second video only moments to score a clean edit, free of full frame flash washouts.

  • Backup all footage as soon as you get home – This one is simple.  We all get tired after the full day and the drive home, but it’s not hard to setup a file dump before you crash for the night. Keeping the materials you were hired to capture is the priority above all.
